Message from the Principal
Cecilia Parada
We’re almost there - just one more week to go before the school holidays! The school is full of excitement as we get ready to wrap up a fantastic year. Last week, Semester 2 reports were sent home, giving families a look at all the progress students have made. If you’d like to chat with your child’s teacher, you can still request a meeting either face-to-face or over the phone.
It’s a great time to look back on all the amazing things our students have achieved, celebrate together, and enjoy some fun events and favourite traditions. There’s plenty of opportunities for everyone to get involved, have a good time, and make some great memories before we finish up.

As we draw closer to the end of the year, it’s time to honour those who have stood out through their effort and achievement. The Principal’s Morning Tea is a special gathering to recognise our Principal Award winners and their family members. This intimate event celebrates hard work, resilience, and success, offering an opportunity for families to join us in acknowledging the positive impact these students have made.
Presentation Day is happening on Wednesday. This is a special event where we celebrate students who have really stood out this year. While not everyone gets an award, all the award winners and their families are warmly invited to join us for the ceremony.
If your child doesn’t receive an award this time, please remember that every student has worked hard and achieved plenty this year in many different ways. Presentation Day is just one way we recognise some of those achievements, but every student’s effort and growth is important and valued. We’re proud of all our students as the school year comes to a close.

The festive season is upon us, and Friday 12 December, is set for our vibrant School Disco Fundraiser. The disco will be Disney-themed and students may wish to dress up as a Disney character. A gold coin donation for Mufti will be collected on the day. This event not only offers lots of fun, dancing, and community spirit but also supports the Year 6 Farewell celebrations, helping to make our Year 6 students’ final send-off truly memorable.
One of our favourite ways to celebrate is through friendly competition, and this year, the tradition continues with Year 6 students facing off against teachers in soccer, volleyball, netball, and bin ball matches. These games highlight team spirit, good sportsmanship, and embodies the fun and connection that defines our school community.
Sharing the joy of music beyond our school, the Orchestra and Recorder ensembles are touring local community venues this week. Their performances at a nearby nursing home and childcare centre will spread festive cheer and foster connections between students and community members. This meaningful engagement allows our young musicians to bring happiness and celebrate the spirit of the season through their talents.
Finally, many of our students from our school’s Support Unit will enjoy an excursion to the Christmas Party at Rosehill, a festive event designed to include everyone in the holiday celebrations. This special outing offers fun activities and the chance to build friendships in a welcoming atmosphere, making it a perfect way to conclude the school year.
