STEM News
Congratulations to all our 2025 STEM students who have worked extremely hard on their projects throughout the year, especially the students from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 whose projects were entered into the STA NSW Young Scientist Competition.
A special mention goes to the students who won special awards for their Young Scientist Research Projects:
YEAR 4: Charlotte C - ‘What affects the moulding of bread?’ (Scientific Investigation Yrs 3-4)
YEAR 5: James S, Davis V - ‘Wind Turbines of Power’ (Best Primary Physics Investigation -2nd place)
YEAR 6: Antonia D, Ryan McG, Paxton T - ‘Bohemian Splasidy’ (Primary Encouragement Award and Best Primary Physics Investigation -3rd place)
These students, their parents, Dr Simon Crook and I attended the STA NSW Young Scientist Awards Presentation Ceremony which was held at UTS on Friday evening, 28 November. It was an exciting evening for the students, who were presented with their awards by Dr. James Wallman, Dean, Faculty of Science UTS, in recognition of the students’ achievement in the 2025 Young Scientist Research Competition.
A huge thank you must go to Dr. Simon Crook, who gave all our Year 4-6 Young Scientist STEM students excellent guidance and encouragement throughout the year.
