Rest and relaxation with Golden Retrievers

Last weekend, Macdonald House was blessed to have our MOD Narelle’s Golden Retriever pups come for a visit. There is no doubt the girls loved this surprise visit, with smiles and cuddles for everyone - it was a reminder of the joy an animal can bring. Thank you, Narelle. We appreciated the visit.

Fishing is a great past time

Another fishing trip, but a little different this time, with so many catching their first fish. Makenna and Isabel were catching a big fish and reeled it in, and Nic’s proud moment will live on for weeks! Congratulations to all, and thank you once again, Mr Naidu.

The Boarding House is our home for our boarders and staff. And, a home is a place where you can ask friends to come over and visit, something we encourage our boarders to do. With a break in the weather last week and the sun shining it was an opportunity for some visiting day students to come and hang out at the Boardo! Misha popped over to go for a lap of the lake with Georgia in the perfect weather. Thanks for visiting our boarders, you are all welcome to pop in for an afternoon.

Card games aplenty

With the social media ban date closing in we are trying to prepare our boarders with engaging alternatives to technology. The good old card games are being brought back into the House, with our girls leading the charge. I must admit I am enjoying the Uno evenings at the moment. For the boys house it is not so much card games, but cricket on the oval, tennis on the courts, and basketball in the evenings.

Ooblex fun – great activity, but not really recommended for cleaning!!

Admittedly, Lise has explained to me that Ooblex may not have been the best choice for an activity last week ... but the boarders were undoubtedly having fun making slime and colouring it in their favourite shade. Another good evening in the Boarding House, off technology and building friendships through activities.
