Last night we celebrated and farewelled the Class of 2025 at their Valedictory Service and Dinner. The event and the speeches by students and Heads of House conveyed perfectly the spirit and character of this wonderful group of young people. Exams and celebrations done, all that remains for them is to wait for their final results in early December. We wish them every happiness and success in whatever follows for each of them.
I would like to flag again in advance the change to two of our operating platforms for 2026. Our learning management system (LMS), SIMON, and the Parent Access Module, PAM, will both be replaced in 2026 by Toddle. Toddle will also replace Story Park and Class Dojo. Toddle will be used for accessing assessment feedback, for viewing key parent policies and documents, for the College calendar, and for registering student absences. It will become the main communication channel for parents.
And secondly, Operoo is ceasing operations in Australia from the end of January next year. We have engaged an Australian company, Paperly, to fill the gap left by Operoo. Paperly will be used for excursion permissions, updating parent contact details and student medical details, and for parent-teacher interview bookings.
These changes will assist in reducing the number of platforms used by the College to communicate with parents. Full access information and instructions for both will be sent in early 2026, and there will be a number of parent drop-in sessions scheduled in early Term One for parents who like some hands-on assistance.
You may have seen in the press this week reports of contaminated coloured sand being present in some early learning and school settings. We have conducted a thorough review of any similar products and can advise that no affected products have been used by students at the College. We will continue to monitor for any additions to the list of affected products, but we are comfortable that we have not been affected.
