Year 1/2 Incursion
As part of our Term 4 'Look Up and Around' inquiry, the Year 1/2 students took part in an exciting Weather Workshop delivered by Carmen from Inquisitive Kids. Throughout the session, students explored key scientific ideas, including the water cycle, static electricity, hot air rising, condensation, and many other fascinating weather phenomena.
We were incredibly proud of the students’ active listening, curiosity and enthusiastic participation. They demonstrated a strong base knowledge of weather concepts and asked thoughtful, insightful questions that deepened their understanding. It was a wonderful hands-on learning experience that supported our inquiry beautifully and sparked plenty of wonder and discussion back in the classroom.

The Resilience Project GEM-E Day Shines Bright!
On Tuesday 25th November, our Foundation–Year 2 students took part in our very first GEM-E Day, a celebration of gratitude, empathy, mindfulness and emotional literacy in line with our learning by The Resilience Project. With mixed-age rotations running throughout the day, students had the chance to learn, laugh and look after their wellbeing - often all at the same time!
From sharing things they are grateful for and creating a leaf for a gratitude tree, to practising mindful chalk drawing and identifying feelings, the children embraced each activity with enthusiasm. Older students supported our youngest learners beautifully, modelling kindness, patience and the occasional enthusiastic high-five.
Classrooms were filled with giggles, thoughtful conversations, and creative moments—whether students were drawing their feelings, acting out emotions, or playing a board game.
We are so proud of the way every child contributed to making GEM-E Day a warm, joyful and uplifting experience. Their positive energy filled the school, and we hope they carried a little extra gratitude, empathy, mindfulness (and sparkle!) home with them.
