Principals message

Dear Kilberry Families,

As we reach the end of another wonderful year at Kilberry Valley Primary School, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the many achievements, improvements, and celebrations that have shaped 2025. Thank you for your ongoing partnership, support, and trust—it is a privilege to work with our students and community each day.

School Improvements

This year we have continued investing in our school environment. We introduced new signage across the grounds, refreshed carpet in key areas, and completed updated painting throughout our offices and staffroom, creating a more welcoming and functional school space.

Looking ahead, we are pleased to share the upgrades planned for the holiday break. These include replacement of classroom carpets in A and B Blocks, brand-new classroom furniture across the school, new shade sails to enhance outdoor learning and play spaces, additional signage at our gates, and painting of the gym. We look forward to students returning to refreshed, vibrant learning spaces in 2026.

Student Wellbeing

Student wellbeing has remained a major focus for us. We have continued to promote the importance of regular attendance through rewards such as Pizza Day, icy poles, access to the Dojo Shop, and other incentives students have enjoyed.

We also want to congratulate all students for their excellent attendance this year, with a special shout-out to Wania, Mobin, Evan, Edwin, Kingsley, and Gawhar for achieving 100% attendance in 2025—an outstanding effort!

Our Tier 2 wellbeing programs have grown significantly. Peaceful Kids, art therapy, and a range of lunch clubs have been very popular. A standout highlight has been our Play Leaders, who have supported younger students with enthusiasm and care while building positive play experiences across the school.

Teaching and Learning

This year we delved deeply into the Science of Learning. Students engaged with high-quality curriculum that included continuous checks for understanding, novel studies, and explicit teaching in mathematics. We have seen a noticeable increase in student engagement, reflected strongly in our ATOSS results. Our data in both wellbeing and learning exceeded state and network averages—a testament to the dedication of our staff, the hard work of our students, and the support of our parent community.

Celebrating Our Community 2025

It has been filled with events that showcased the talents and rich cultural diversity of our students. Harmony Day, Lunar New Year, Eid, and Diwali were celebrated with great enthusiasm, giving students opportunities to share and celebrate their cultures.

Our students also excelled in sports, proudly representing Kilberry in numerous competitions. The school production was another highlight—a magical night that demonstrated creativity, confidence, and teamwork, and was enjoyed by the entire community.

Farewell to Our Year 6 Students

As we conclude the year, we farewell our graduating Year 6 students. We are incredibly proud of them and excited for the opportunities awaiting them in secondary school. We wish each student every success, happiness, and confidence as they begin the next stage of their learning journey.

Acknowledgments

Thank you to all our staff for their hard work, dedication, and support of our students throughout the year. Your efforts make Kilberry such a positive, engaging, and safe place for learning.
