Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Families,

It seems hard to believe that this will be our final formal newsletter for the 2025 school year! It has been an action-packed Term Four, with many great events awaiting us around the corner.

Over the past month, two of the great highlights for me have been running our Year 6 Student Leadership application process for 2026 with our current Year 5 students, and also beginning our Stand-Up Project work with our Year 5 “SUP” Leaders. This group of 24 students have participated in a training day with SUP facilitators, run a Staff Training session and also led a parent session on the Stand-Up Project and what it means to our school. These students have also started planning lessons to deliver to all classes in 2026 – where they will teach and empower students to be upstanders and not bystanders. A very exciting time for our student leaders.

This week we recognised our HUGE number of Volunteers with a special Morning Tea as a little thank you for the hard work and dedication throughout the year for the wide and varied way that they have contributed to our school. Without this help, it simply wouldn’t be possible to achieve all that we do each and every day, and I’d like to extend my personal thanks to all who have continued to support our school this year in any way.

Next week, we have our final assembly where we will present our Citizens of the Term for Term Four, say farewell to Mrs Carey and some other staff and present some community awards to some of our senior students. This will take place at the earlier time of 2:30PM to fit everything in!

In the last week of term we have our Year 6 Graduation on Tuesday the 16th December and then our Community Christmas Picnic on the 18th of December, which you are ALL welcome to come along and join in, before students are dismissed for the year at 1:30PM.

A reminder for parents to please place your order for the 2026 Book Packs if you have not already done so, and also ask that all end-of-year excursions are paid for by Monday 15th December to ensure accounts can be finalised by the end of the year.

I’d like to recognise the hard work and dedication of our teaching and education support staff this year. I feel lucky to have such a dedicated staff who are committed to making a difference in the lives of your children each and every day.

Finally, I’d like to wish our departing Year 6s a fabulous next step on their journey into secondary school. Don’t be strangers – please come back and say “Hi”!

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a restful break. Please stay safe.
