What Happens During Monday Early Release? Staff Dive Into NSW EduChat AI!
Ever wondered what our staff get up to during Monday’s early release time?
This term, they’re teaming up to learn about using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in our school—especially with a handy tool called NSW EduChat. NSW EduChat is a safe, department-created AI assistant that helps our teachers find information quickly and manage tasks more easily.
By exploring this important work with new AI tools, we hope to make learning even better for your children and make school life run more smoothly.
It’s a chance for staff to share ideas, try out new technology, and think about how it can make learning even better for our students. We’re excited to explore what AI can do, and we can’t wait to keep you updated as new things unfold!
Message from Year 7 and 10 Deputy
As we reach the end of Term 2, I want to take a moment to say how immensely proud I have been of our Year 7 and Year 10 students. Over the past weeks, I have witnessed firsthand the dedication, enthusiasm, and positive spirit our students bring to school every day.
It has been a privilege to see so many students embody our school values of Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience—not just in the classroom, but also through their involvement in sporting events and our outstanding school musical, Mamma Mia. Whether on the sports field, on stage, or supporting their peers, you have all shown what it means to be a part of our community.
Special congratulations to those students who were acknowledged at the merit assemblies for their achievements. Your respectful attitudes, responsible actions, and resilient spirit are a true reflection of what we strive for as a school.
Thank you for your hard work and for making me so proud to be your Deputy Principal. Let’s carry this positive energy into next term and continue to grow together. Well done to everyone involved!
Susan Hoddinott
Deputy Principal Year 7 and 10
Dear Students and Families of Years 8 and 11
As we conclude Term 2, I want to extend my sincere thanks to all our students and families for their ongoing support and commitment throughout this busy term.
To our Year 11 students, next term marks a significant period as you enter a crucial phase of your education, working hard to complete your Preliminary Year. It is expected to be a busy term with plenty of challenges and opportunities ahead. I encourage you to stay focused, maintain your resilience, and continue striving for your best as you prepare for the important milestones ahead.
For our Year 8 students, next term brings an exciting opportunity with subject selection for Years 9 and 10. This is an important step in shaping your future studies, and I look forward to seeing your enthusiasm as you explore your options and make thoughtful choices.
Please remember that support is always available to you. Whether through your Year Advisers, classroom teachers, or the Deputy Principal team, we are here to help you navigate any challenges and celebrate your successes. Do not hesitate to reach out whenever you need guidance or assistance.
I am immensely proud of the positive attitudes and efforts I have seen across both year groups this term. You have embodied the values of Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience not only in your classrooms but also by actively engaging in extracurricular activities, school events, and other opportunities that enrich our school community.
As we move into Term 3, our main focus in every classroom will be on achieving individual learning goals. I encourage all students to approach their studies with dedication, and to take advantage of the support and opportunities available to help them reach their potential.
I also would like to encourage all families to attend the Parent Teacher afternoon on the 27th of July. This is a valuable opportunity to engage with your child’s teachers, discuss their progress, and collaborate on strategies to support their learning journey. Your involvement plays a crucial role in your child’s success, and we look forward to seeing you there.
Thank you for your hard work and dedication. To the families, your support is invaluable, and together we can ensure our students continue to thrive.
I am looking forward to this momentum being carried through into the next term.
Warm regards,
Nikki Munday
Deputy Principal, Year 8 and Year 11
Message from Year 9 and 12 Deputy
A special reminder to our Year 12 students: HSC trials are just around the corner, running from 10th August to 21st August. Keep up the excellent effort and remember to look after yourselves as you prepare. Your study periods are a great opportunity to focus on revision and get ahead in your preparation.
We’re also excited to announce that Year 12 will be going on their last whole year group excursion to Sawtell and Coffs Harbour from Monday 21 September to Tuesday 22 September 2026—a wonderful opportunity to make lasting memories together.
And don’t forget, the Year 12 Valedictory will be held on 26th September—a special day to celebrate your achievements!
For those students who have worked hard I am going to give you the next two weeks off, my treat. Don't even think about coming to school. All other students are required to be in attendance on the 21st July.
