Week 6, Term 2
As part of National Reconciliation Week (May 27 - June 3), students across all levels will have the opportunity to listen and sing the song 'Solid Rock' by Goanna.
Prep
Students are continuing to explore music and sounds to categorise whether they have a steady beat or no beat.
Grade 1
Students will compose their own pitch patterns using digital tools.
Grade 2
Students will compose their own melodies which use 3 notes.
Grade 3/4
Students are continuing to work on their song which has a Funk 'feel' using loops in Garageband. They will then create a movement/dance piece to their song to show their understanding of 'feel'.
Grade 6
Students are continuing on their songwriting project; refining their idea, deciding on their chords and writing their lyrics.
Prep
Students will continue to look at Laura Blythman to be inspired when collaging their winter hills design. They will focus on balance and composition and layering papers and colours that is pleasing to the eye.
Grade 1
Students will be finishing off their Backyard Beasties hybrid animal by tracing around the perimeter of their animal to make it stand out from the background. They will also be continuing to develop the layers of their Carolyn Trowbridge inspired artwork, adding cool colours and learning how to draw a vase shape.
Grade 2
Students will be looking at the stitched work of Marlene Rubuntja and the painted birds of Katie Nalgood before drawing a native Australian bird outline onto calico ready to be stitched next week.
Grade 3/4
Students will be continuing to use plasticine to ‘paint’ their native Australian bird onto cardboard, focussing on blending colours and adding detail to the face, body and background.
Grade 5
There is no Art for Grade 5 this week as they are on camp.
Grade 6
Students will be continuing to add stitching to the printed photo of their chosen famous Australian, focussing firstly on a descriptive word and then moving onto details on and around the photo itself.
