Werte Class 3 Families,
It has been an honour and a pleasure to work and be with your children this term. Together we have overcome our loss of Jessica, and built a genuine relationship and respectful working and learning space. Through this we have all learned so much from each other, and for this I am truly grateful. It is now with joy and full confidence that we meet Ella McHenry, who will join our school community and guide the children through their next endeavours.
Ella and her family are returning to Alice Springs after many years in South Australia. She has a strong connection to Central Australia and the Alice Springs community and is looking forward to being a part of our school. Ella and I will spend plenty of time together during this transition, both in planning and with the children.
We look forward to meeting with the Class Parents on Monday 21st July at 5:30pm.
During the day Ella, Jayne and I will be deeply involved in hand over, so we will not be making individual appointments. Please feel free to make a time to meet with Ella during the term once she settles in.
Class 3 begin Term 3 in full camp mode as we prepare to venture out to the Tamara Co-op Date Farm on Wednesday 30th July and return on Friday 1st August. It happens that Ella was one of the original Date Farm co-op founders, so she is just as excited as the rest of us to be out there! In class we have begun menu planning, ensuring everyone’s dietary quirks are catered to. I think it is so important the children feel confident with the menu. You can expect a Camp Information Pack to come home before the end of the week. Please read through carefully and contact me with any questions, and anything you want me to know about your child to help make this camp a wonderful success. I love Class Camps and I particularly love the growth that comes with them both independently and as a cohesive group.
Thank you for your support and trust this term. I appreciate the time you have given to meet with me as I got to know your Class 3 child. This group of children will forever have a special place in my heart (and potentially be my favourite class from here on in – but shhh, don’t tell the others).
With love and respect,
Megan x
