Grade One / Two

Class Information

We are officially in winter and are encouraging all students to ensure that they are wearing their winter uniforms so that they can keep themselves nice and warm while they are at school. There have been several unnamed new jackets and jumpers that have already been lost this term, so please make sure that your child’s items are named. 

GRADE 1 & 2 UPDATE

GRADE 1  

  • In Literacy: learning about words with ‘or’ and ‘ore’, revising plurals and how to include verbs to uplevel our writing.  
  • In Numeracy: Comparing and measuring mass, capacity and length. 

GRADE 2

  • In Literacy: learning how to ask questions before, during and after reading a text, revising the spelling suffix rule add ing’, investigating words with ‘y’, ‘ey’ and ‘ar’, and extending our knowledge of verbs. 
  • In Numeracy: Revising and extending Addition and Subtraction knowledge and skills.

Term 2 - Week 8 

  • King’s Birthday Public Holiday – Monday 9th June 
  • St Liborius Breakfast Club - Wednesday and Friday from 8:15am-8:40am. 
  • Crazy Sock Day – Friday 13th June 
  • Year 2 Unit Mass and Morning Tea – Friday 13th June @ 9:15am in the St Liborius Church. 
  • Walk to School – Friday 13th June @ 7:45am from Canterbury Park. 
  • CLUBS - Friday 13th June

ST MARY MACKILLOP OF THE CROSS AWARDS 

Well done to Chloe C, Arlie S, Eloise T, Matthew B, Charlotte & Dien W who were our most recent award recipients. These students have demonstrated the spirit of St Mary MacKillop through their compassion, initiative and love of learning.

GRADE 2 ART

Year Two students kicked off the printing unit with a bang! After drawing a geometric city skyline, students used water and crisp folding to create a reflection.
