Class Information
It has been lovely to see the Foundation students beginning to explore different investigation areas over the last two weeks. We have been seeing many creations in the craft area, as well as students building with the blocks, marble run and Lego. Hopefully the students are coming home and sharing the wonderful things that they do during Investigation time.
Many students are bringing home two readers each day from a new book box. These readers may have some sounds which the students have not learned yet in the classroom, so it is important to support them as they are reading. Students continue to bring home one familiar reader which they have already read and one new reader each night.
Last Friday we had several Foundation students on stage presenting their Pupil of the week books with their buddies. This was the last of our Pupils of the week for the year, because all Foundation students have now had their turn.
The school nurse has been working extremely hard to see all of the Foundation students over the last few weeks. After undertaking the assessment with the students, Sharryn (school nurse), makes a phone call to all families to discuss her findings.
Each Monday afternoon, one student from each class receives an award. This term, awards are given to students displaying the qualities of Mary McKillop including a love for learning, trying their best and persisting with challenges. Award winners will be acknowledged at the next assembly on the slide show. Congratulations to the award winners for weeks 6 & 7. Included are the photos of the students from weeks 6 and 7.

We have had a lot of jumpers and jackets found with no name on them. Please ensure that you name all uniform items including jumpers, jackets and beanies to ensure they get returned to your child if they are lost. Please also remember that the students should be wearing their Winter school uniform, which means long pants and no shorts.
