Bulldogs Read

On Friday the 16th of May, students in the Bulldogs Read program attended Whitten Oval to observe the Western Bulldogs Football Club train, a much anticipated event after last year's success.
After a very early bus trip, we made it down to Footscray in Melbourne, making our way into the Whitten Oval stands with the other visiting schools. While we waited for the team to make their way onto the oval, Campbell, one of the programs leaders, gifted the students with their goodie bags, which included a scarf and beanie. James Bray also received his prize for completing the best book review for the month of April!
Excitement levels were high, with students cheering on players from the fence line while they completed their warm up drills. Shortly after this, the team made their way over to greet the students, sign their belongings and take a few pictures.
While visiting, we also had a short tour, visiting the sports museum in the centre, home to the teams most prized accomplishments and possessions. The students also had the opportunity to have a run around and kick on both the inside training grass court and on Whitten Oval itself.
Our students' commitment to this program so far has been out of this world, with 73 book reviews published to date. Make sure you keep checking the Bulldogs Read website to see the work our incredible authors are sharing.
