In Mathematics, we continue to develop our understanding of Place Value. Students are exploring the rules for working with odd and even numbers relating to their place value. We have been working with open ended tasks to problem solve grouping odd and even objects. This included creating a bird’s-eye view of our room and exploring how we could decorate it with 29 balloons.
Students have also been working collaboratively to create their own card games. They created posters that included rules, modifications and instructions on how to play these games and presented them to the class before teaching their game to another small group.
In Writing, students have been including adjectives in their own narratives, and in Reading they have been identifying adjectives in their texts. We’ve been discussing how adjectives can be used to enhance our storytelling and how they help us visualise details when reading.
