Art
Our art room Growth Mindset has been decided on and is on display in the art room to support student learning.
Students have completed their art folios with the theme based on our feature artist Henri Rousseau, a self-taught French artist. Rousseau's artwork features jungle scenes with tigers and tropical plants. Students were inspired by Rousseau's art to create jungle-like scenes on their folios.
All year levels have started working on their Henry Rousseau inspired paintings. We discussed as a class what the final artworks would like and on the final presentation. The prep and 1/2 classes are focusing on tigers and leaf shapes to create their paintings.
The 3/4 students are using shoe boxes to create 3D jungle paintings incorporating cut paper and collaged materials. Grade 5/6 students are painting on stretched canvases using acrylic paints and other materials.
If you have any spare shoe boxes at home the 3/students would greatly appreciate them.
To support student learning, parents are invited to help in the art room. You will need a current working with children check. Please sign in at the office before you come to the art room.
