Principal's News

Dear SMCM Community, Wominjeka!

Welcome to our new look newsletter! Thank you to families who provided feedback about our newsletter via the survey. Feedback included remaining with a weekly newsletter, including key dates and a more aesthetic and easy-to-read format.  This feedback has been incorporated into our new platform. We look forward to continuing to communicate with you through our newsletter.

This week we have held two school tours for 2025 Prep Enrolments. These sessions were well attended and we look forward to welcoming 85 new prep students in 2025. Families with siblings commencing school in 2025 are asked to submit their enrolment forms ASAP.

When enrolling in our Catholic school families commit to support the Parish of St Peter’s Epping. The Parish supports the school and children pastorally as well as celebrating our Sacraments and weekly school masses. In the coming weeks, families will receive a letter from the Parish regarding financial contributions. Families are encouraged to make a contribution that is financially manageable for their household.

Last night we held our first School Advisory Council for 2024. Thank you to the members of our newly formed SAC who engaged in discussions regarding the focus of our future SAC meetings and future planning for our school. Please find the Principal Report presented at last night’s meeting here:

We are very proud of our Year 3 and Year 5 students as they complete their NAPLAN assessments this week! The NAPLAN result reports are expected mid-year. These assessments are just a snapshot of each child’s learning and support the ongoing assessments being completed at school.

Congratulations to Anjana, Antony and Antonio (Technology homegroup) on the arrival of your beautiful baby girl!

I encourage you to click through each of the new newsletter tabs to find out more about school photos, the Colour Run and our specialist programs.
