VOCABULARY

Recount: Retelling something that has happened or something you have done. 

 

Express: to make known your writing ideas.

 

Critique: careful judgment or opinion of the writing piece

 

Improve: to make changes that make the work even better


ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Students can practice writing a recount on the following topic and focus using the correct structure. 

 

Topics: 

  • Going to a favourite restaurant. 
  • Playing with a school friend. 
  • Making something with their hands.

 

Structure of a recount includes: 

  • Title 
  • Introduction - When? Who? What? Why?
  • Sequence of events with connectives: First, Then, Next, Finally.
  • Personal comment
