SPC Cycling Central

National BMX Series

On the 22 and 23 February SPC was well represented in Brisbane for the first round of the National BMX Series with all competing students securing rankings in their classes and the country.

These students have been donning their full race kits and training hard throughout the summer which is no mean feat to get to the point where they are striving for places on the National Circuit. We commend their efforts and recognise that their parents are also making many sacrifices to get them to these events from the NT.

Dysen Drew - 13 Boys - ranked 4th

Cooper Drew - 13 Boys - ranked 5th

Caleb Nicol - 15 Boys - ranked 7th and 7th in Jnr Superclass

Jye Harvey - 15 Boys - ranked 9th also competing in Jnr Superclass ranking 23rd

official timing.

3 Hours of Power

3 Hours of Power never stops throwing down challenges with every rider Striving to keep their bikes rolling, Seeking to find the strength in the darkness and Caring for their fellow riders and all who were around.

The 3 Hours definitely saw its share of challenges with new riders, tired riders, riders in the dark, flat tires, empty stomachs and sprinklers in the late hours of the night. The standout for morale boosting was the 12-hour Team of Swifties (Scarlet, Martha, Andy and Amaya) wearing tutus and the crowd cheering on all riders on the night. Bradley Evans managed to pull through for 10 laps as a solo rider and will be resting heavily for the next few days.

Atkins/Landy Mob (Mac and George) took out the 6-hour pair with an average of just over 17kms an hour and 16 laps. Midlife Crashers on 28 Laps took out 12-hour Team.

Check out the results below to get the full picture.

Many thanks to all involved and to St Philip's College, Alice Springs for the support and sponsoring the event.

Road and Track
