"I didn’t expect living in the Boarding House would be so much fun. I live on a farm near Timboon so I enjoy being able to hang out with the other girl boarders regularly. It is fun having a roommate with whom we can share stories of our day at school. It was nice to have a “girls’ night” in the Year 12 wing (shhhh - they were at the dinner dance) talking and giggling while watching movies. Mr Monk brought us popcorn to share."

"I like how there are always people around to talk to. Also to socialise with, even if you just say good morning in the line to make your lunch or if you just talk about your day whilst waiting to do washing there is always someone to talk to. That’s definitely my favourite part. I felt really nervous when I first came to the boarding house because I didn’t know anyone and most things were so different than I had experienced before, but I eventually get used to it with the help of so many supportive people. I’m looking forward to the themed dinners and seeing everyone dressed up."

What a pleasure to meet up with College parents Alby Vallance, Leun Credlin and Warren Funcke during the Wimmera Field Days in Horsham. In addition to meeting current parents and families, we were pleased to begin conversations and promote College to many prospective families from the Wimmera District.
We also had two wonderful people pop by to say hello - Old Collegian Des James, Class of 1956, and Bruce Schultz (grandfather of Henry Haynes, who was Speirs House Boarding Captain 2022), who provided an update on Henry.
Des James - Class of 1956
Des boarded at Hamilton College from 1954 - 56. At this time, the boarders dorms were on the top floor of the Tower Building. Des's memory was as sharp as a tack and shared some great stories with us...
I’m now looking forward to our next Field Day outing at Lucindale on 15 and 16 March. If you are able to make a trip out for the day, please come and say g’day.
