Big Smiles, Bright Minds and Fun Times in 1/2!
Buzzing with Excitement: Minibeast Incursion!
On Wednesday 7th May, Year 1/2 students enjoyed our Minibeast Incursion! Inside the special bug tent, they fed butterflies, held stick insects and touched a yabby. Outside, students caught crickets, explored insects under microscopes and designed bug patterns to warn off predators. It was a hands-on experience which has brought our informative writing unit to life - what a bug-tastic day!
Soaring into Learning: Royal Flying Doctors Service (RFDS) Incursion!
On Tuesday 13th May, Year 1/2 students were thrilled to explore a real Royal Flying Doctor Service plane - right on our school basketball court! They learned about the important work the RFDS does to help people in remote communities access medical care. They climbed aboard the plane, explored medical equipment, spoke through headsets, and even “flew” the plane through a simulator. Many dressed up as pilots, nurses, and doctors - celebrating these amazing community helpers. It was an unforgettable day of learning, with some students calling it the best school day ever!
