National Simultaneous Storytime 2025
We are thrilled to announce our school's participation in the 25th annual National Simultaneous Storytime, a beloved literacy event organized by the Australian Library and Information Association. On Wednesday, 21 May 2025, at 12:00 pm, students across Australia—and beyond—will come together to read the same book at the same time, celebrating the joy of storytelling and the importance of literacy.
This year's featured book is The Truck Cat, written by Deborah Frenkel and illustrated by Danny Snell. The story follows Tinka the cat and his human companion, Yacoub, as they journey through themes of immigration, identity, and the search for home. It's a heart-warming tale that resonates with readers of all ages, emphasising belonging and connection.
Our school will host a special reading session in the library at noon on the day. Students are encouraged to bring their enthusiasm to get into the spirit of The Truck Cat.
We look forward to coming together to celebrate the power of stories and the joy of reading!
Exciting Author Visit – Leisa Fail Inspires Young Readers!
We’re thrilled to announce that local author Leisa Fail will be visiting our school on Wednesday, 21st May to inspire and connect with our students. Leisa has kindly offered her time to share her writing journey and talk about her children’s book series, Stormy Normy.
In the lead-up to her visit, families have the opportunity to purchase a copy of Stormy Normy, with a personalised message from Leisa written inside. This is a wonderful chance for students to own a signed copy of the book, making the experience even more memorable!
Order forms are still available from the office and can be returned up until the day.
We’re very grateful to Leisa for her generosity and can’t wait for our students to be inspired by her visit!
Happy reading!
