Grade 3/4 Unit Updat

Grade 3/4 Term 2 Newsletter

Wow, Term 2 has already been full of fun and learning in the 3/4 unit! We've been diving into some exciting topics and activities.

In Reading, we've been focusing on information texts. Students have been practising answering literal, inferential, and evaluative questions to deepen their understanding. This helps us think more deeply about what we read and understand the information better.

We've been getting creative by crafting stories from the perspective of animals. Students have imagined what it's like to be various creatures, developing engaging narratives that showcase their unique viewpoints. We have worked hard on including 'show, don't tell' and writing from the first-person perspective.

Maths has been hands-on and engaging this term! We've been exploring angles by building structures with LEGO bricks, which made learning about angles both fun and interactive. We have delved into chance and probability through various investigations, helping us grasp the concepts of likelihood and randomness in everyday situations.

Our Inquiry topic, “How do living things change as they grow?” has sparked curiosity and wonder. Students have been investigating the life cycles of different animals and plants, observing how they develop and transform over time. These explorations have led to fascinating discussions and a deeper appreciation for the natural world. It's been great to have many mini beasts visit our classrooms.

We're so proud of how our students have embraced learning this term so far. Their enthusiasm and curiosity make every day exciting.

We can't wait to see what the rest of Term 2 brings!
