Catholic Identity

Creator God, we follow in the footsteps of Jesus, as we walk together on your path of love, hope and faith.

Thank you for the gifts of our school,

our environment, our families and friends.

May our school be a place of learning, care, welcome and celebration.

Mary our Mother, pray for us.

St Mary of the Cross, pray for us.

Amen

Pope Francis

As a school and parish community, we join people all over the world to mourn the death and celebrate the life of Pope Francis, who died peacefully at the age of 88 on April 21, 2025.

Pope Francis was a one-of-a-kind Pope who was relentless in his championing for the dignity of every person no matter their background, beliefs or circumstances. He called out the church to be of service and inclusion and led with faith, compassion and humility.

Pope Francis, who selected his papal name in honour of St Francis of Assisi, cared deeply for creation, the environment and social justice. He reminded us all that we are called to be a voice for those who do not have a voice, to care for everyone equally and to walk humbly with God.

As a St Mary’s community we reflect upon the amazing legacy of Pope Francis and commit to upholding the values and the teachings that he brought us all.

Thank you Pope Francis.

Mother’s Day Mass

We are beginning to plan for our sacraments for 2025. So far, Mr Ryan has several names but please contact him at vryan@smrushworth.catholic.edu.au if you have a child, or know of someone, in Grade 4 who wishes to receive their sacraments.
