PFA News

What a fantastic outdoor movie night we had last Friday. The weather was perfect and Paddington was as lovely as ever.

Thank you to our sponsors, Nelson Alexander, Beautie Touch and Hairapist, Coburg Hill Oral Care, Regency Compounding Pharmacy, Bakes and Bagels, Zan Fashion, La Tortilleria and Market Lane Coffee. Thanks also to Nelson Alexander staff members who put in a shift at the cake stall and covered the costs for the choc tops.

Thanks also to Clare Rae for creating the slide reel that played before the movie. Thanks to Adam for being Chief of the BBQ. Muchas gracias to Marta and Nicole for making all of the empanadas and soups. To all the people who made and donated treats to the cake stall and to all the people who signed up for a shift, worked the EFTPOS machines, served sausages and cakes, made popcorn and helped set up and pack up.

It was a great Team effort, and as they say, Teamwork makes the dream work. It was a fantastic fundraiser, also making over $5,000!

We were back at 7 am on Saturday to set up for the election stalls. It was a huge day as everyone in the neighbourhood came to see our new gym - and cast their vote of course. Cake stalls on consecutive days is always a huge ask and you guys sure came through. We had a great stall and lots of customers throughout the day.

Thanks to Voila Patisserie for donating 7 boxes of cakes for our stall. Thanks to all who took a shift on their Saturday. Special thanks again to Adam for taking charge of the BBQs again and to Jess for staying ALL day to ensure everything ran smoothly.

A standout feature was the Market Lane coffee stand fulfilling all our hot drinks needs and donating their takings of the day to the school, so very generous.

Thanks to the popularity of our polling booth we raised over $7,000

Our next big event is the Colour Run coming up on May 23rd. If you have not yet created your profile, now is the time to get online, go to https://myprofilepage.com.au/

There are already 108 profiles created and we have raised over $8,000 so far which is an incredible start.

We have two very exciting parent and carer morning teas coming up, 9am on Wednesday 28th May will be an Argentinian and Chilean feast and then on Monday 23rd of June we will be celebrating Colombia. Save the date, come along and try some tasty treats and try out your Spanish.

Thanks to the PFA Team and the entire Newlands community for a great week. I don't think there will be any more cake stalls until term 4 now, phew.
