Student Voice

At The King's College, student voice is highly valued. The student leadership team meets regularly to discuss ideas and initiatives. Students are encouraged to share their feedback and suggestions with the College Captains, ensuring their voices help shape the school community.
College Captain's Message
Kenneth Miano
As we progress through Term 2, I am pleased to share some key highlights from the beginning of this term that demonstrate the outstanding engagement and spirit within our school community.
ANZAC Day Commemoration
Our ANZAC Day Service was held with great respect and reverence. It was encouraging to witness the entire school community come together to honour the sacrifice and courage of Australian and New Zealand service members. The ceremony served as a poignant reminder of the values of bravery, resilience, and unity — principles that continue to inspire us today.
Cross Country Event
This term's Inter House Cross-Country competition saw enthusiastic participation from students across all year levels. The commitment and determination displayed by all competitors were commendable, reflecting the importance of physical fitness and perseverance. Congratulations to all participants, especially those who achieved outstanding results. Your dedication contributes significantly to the vibrant sporting culture at our school.
Youth Worship Summit
Just last week was the Youth Worship Summit, held here at The King's College. Our Music Captains Alexis Lewis, Marvin Asuncion, Princess Manoza and our ministry team helped host the day. Great thanks should be extended to Pastor Michael and Miss Yvonne for helping organise this huge event. Notably, our secondary students were able to enjoy a special chapel service with our special guest youth communicators who touched on our year’s theme of Courage. The Creative Club had the opportunity to work with a great Youth Band and share keys with other schools on how to build a strong chapel culture and place God front and centre in their school. Six other schools attended including Kingsway, Peter Carnley, Fremantle Christian College, Emmanuel, Anglican College, Kolbe Catholic College.
New Student Breakfast Club
One exciting aspect of the college that we are slowly but surely bringing back is the Breakfast Club. Previously hosted by some of our staff, such as Mrs Volonnino, we wanted to bring back this tradition, but rebranded it to be more student-led. We had success in Weeks 3 and 4 with the Year 7s, with the Breakfast Club this week open to the Year 8s. It is a great opportunity for our student leaders to actively participate in service to the student body. We have hopes to eventually open the club to the rest of the school by the end of the term.
Thank you for your ongoing commitment to making our school a place of growth, respect, and achievement. I look forward to the continued progress and success of all students throughout the term.
