Welcome back to Term 2! I hope that everyone had a restful break and the chance to enjoy some time reflecting on the Risen Lord this Easter Season. At school we have had a busy start with lots of preparations for our Mother’s Day celebrations and learning about how Confirmation will look at St Mary’s Cathedral in November this year.
MAY and Mary

May is often referred to as the Month of Mary – a month where Catholics across the world pay special devotions to our Blessed Mother as 'Queen of the May'. Such devotions include the singing of Marian hymns, reading scripture associated with Our Lady and praying the rosary. This week Year 2 students, parents and grandparents celebrated SPaR in the church to honour and pray the Rosary. Students also learnt more about Mary, her faith, devotion to our God and how she is able to intercede on our behalf.
Mother’s Day - Stall and Celebrations
Students enjoyed shopping for their mums or mother figures at the school's well-supported Mother's Day Stall on Thursday. We appreciate the generous contributions from the wider community. Thank you to our Year 6 Religious Education Leaders and Pope Francis students for their help with the stall and raffle. A special thank you to our dedicated parent volunteers: Rebecca Karanassos, Gillian Riooney, Mary-Anne Schweiter, and Kate Libbis, for their significant time commitment!
Friday's Mother's Day celebrations began with an early morning breakfast and photo booth, followed by a lovely liturgy led by Year 2. The day continued with the raffle draw, a choir performance, open classrooms, a delicious morning tea, and a fantastic fashion parade. A huge thank you to Donna Marie Designs, our Year 2 model mums, and the Year 6 Religious Education Leaders and Pope Francis students who assisted throughout the morning. Wishing everyone a wonderful Mother's Day!
