Dear Parents and Carers,
Can you believe we are now in the month of May? This year is going by so fast and we would like to thank all of the students for the way they have entered this second term of learning. We would also like to thank all of our families, parents and carers for your continued support and partnership in our school community.
For any adult who has watched the Netflix drama Adolescence and were left with big feelings, you are not alone.
The program (Rated M) has shone a light on the dangerous impact of misogynistic content, algorithms and influencers on the minds of young men and boys.
The eSafety Commissioner is Australia’s national online safety educator, ensuring young people are safe to create, connect and explore the online world. Connecting with educators, parents and young people is the key to improve digital literacy and resilience is so very important.
Below are some key points we can take from this drama series and some resources shared by the eSafety Commissioner.
1. Impact of Online Content
2. Mental Health Awareness
3. Open Communication
4. Role of Adults
5. Addressing Bullying

Lastly, we'd like to share a great website with you. In today’s digital world, kids are often learning about technology faster than their parents. DigitalNest help families build healthy tech habits and manage screentime with confidence, through personalised protections and controls — helping them shine online and thrive offline.
As parents and carers, it’s difficult to guide our children through this digital world — especially when you’re facing limited time, confusing tech options, and growing concern over what they’re seeing online. But it doesn’t have to be overwhelming.
DigitalNest helps families create a healthy, balanced relationship with technology. We support your child’s online safety by setting up smart, layered parental controls and safeguards — and we help you build simple, effective strategies to support digital wellbeing and screen time balance. Wishing all mothers and mother figures a warm and wonderful Mother's Day!
