Celebrating Eucharist, Honouring Our Mothers and Information about Family Week 2025
Eucharist Information Night
On Thursday 8th May, we held a First Eucharist Information Night, facilitated by the Year 4 classroom teachers, Ms Harrick and Mr Prowse, along with Fr Gallacher, our principal Mrs Marinelli, and myself. It was a wonderful evening with a great turnout, including some of our parish families. The evening provided a meaningful opportunity to deepen our understanding of the Sacrament of the Eucharist, which some of our Year 4 students will be receiving in the coming weeks at our parish church.
As part of the evening, we explored the Scripture passage of the Last Supper, where Jesus shared a sacred meal with his disciples and invited them to "do this in memory of me." This passage helped us reflect on the significance of the Eucharist and how it continues to connect us with Jesus today.
Families also took time to discuss an important question together: "What do you remember about your First Holy Communion or another significant faith experience?" It was heartening to see students engaging in these rich conversations and beginning to connect their own preparation with the faith journeys of their family members.
Over the term, students will continue this learning in the classroom, deepening their understanding of the sacrament and preparing spiritually for this special milestone in their faith journey.
Mother’s Day Liturgy
On Friday, we came together as a school community to celebrate and give thanks for the mothers and special female role models in our lives. Our Mother’s Day liturgy was a heartwarming occasion and a beautiful reminder of the important role these women play in shaping who we are.
Students participated reverently in prayer, song, and reflection, offering gratitude for the love, care, and guidance shown by the women in their lives. The liturgy included touching readings and heartfelt prayers written by students, making the celebration both personal and meaningful.
Many families joined us for this special occasion, and it was wonderful to see our community united in prayer and appreciation. We continue to keep all the mothers, grandmothers, aunties, carers, and special women in our thoughts and prayers, recognising the invaluable contributions they make in nurturing faith, love, and strength in our lives.
Family Week 2025
Next week, we will celebrate Family Week at school! This is a special time for students to reflect on the importance of family, love, and kindness. The theme for this year is:“Building thriving communities, where everyone belongs.”
📚 Throughout the week, students will take part in classroom activities that explore the many ways families care for each other and help us feel that we belong. Each child will also bring home a Kindness Challenge Card with simple tasks like helping at home, saying thank you, or doing something thoughtful for a family member. These small acts are designed to spark meaningful conversations and will be shared back in class each day.
As part of our Catholic tradition, this week is a reminder that love, respect, and compassion begin at home and help us build stronger, more connected communities.
Thank you for supporting Family Week and helping your child take part in this special experience!
