Leadership Day with MAF

Empowering Future Leaders at MECS
On a recent Leadership Day, our Student Representative Council (SRC) and Faith Leadership Team (FLT) had the incredible opportunity to participate in a day of growth and team-building, led by Jon from Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF). MAF, an organization that brings the gospel to remote parts of the world by flying missionaries and aid to areas that need it most, guided our students through a series of engaging and thought-provoking sessions.
The day’s themes included ‘servant leadership’, ‘creating vision’, ‘public speaking’, and ‘using your strengths’. In the final session, students were challenged to develop a project idea that they could implement at school, leaving behind a meaningful legacy for others. This creative challenge encouraged the students to think outside the box and come up with practical ways to make a positive impact.
The day was filled with interactive activities, including obstacle courses, team challenges, and even building with LEGO! One of the standout moments was watching our students navigate through a tough obstacle course, demonstrating excellent communication and teamwork. A fun highlight was the squat hold challenge, where the girls took the win over the boys, showcasing their determination and strength.
The students engaged deeply with the content, and it was inspiring to witness them embodying the heart of the day—serving others, leading with purpose, and collaborating effectively. We are truly blessed at MECS to have such passionate and dedicated Secondary School Leaders who are eager to lead by example.
We are thankful to Jon and MAF for making this day possible, and for helping us nurture the next generation of leaders who will continue to impact our school and beyond.
