This resource is developed by the Lutheran Church of Australia and is intended to be a guide in sharing faith activities with members of your family.
Here are a few ways you could introduce faith discussions in your home and day-to-day life.
This week the Bible reading tells the story of The Rich Fool, a wealthy farmer who tore down his existing barns and built larger ones to store his surplus crops after a bountiful harvest. He plans to eat, drink and be merry with his wealth; however, God tells him that he will die that night and his earthly wealth will be of no use to him. This story highlights the dangers of greed and the futility of worldly possessions, when compared with the spiritual riches of heaven.
Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how
much you own. (Luke 12:15)
Spiritual riches or being ‘rich towards God’ means growing in generosity towards those who are in need and sharing the blessings God has given us with others.
Give us grace, O God, to be ever thankful for your goodness, and ever willing to help others in need. Amen.
Lord Jesus, help us to focus on the things of heaven, not the things of earth. Amen.
(Name) May Jesus help you to know and follow his ways. Amen.
