Principal Update

Melissa Mackenzie

Another lovely week at APS.

Today we celebrated the Prep's 100th day of school. The students were so excited, coming to school dressed up, sharing special food and completing activities based on 100. Their day started with an assembly where they spoke about what they’ve learned so far, shared their knowledge of the alphabet and some of the sounds the letters make and singing a song. Their confidence is fantastic and they are certainly a very successful group of students. Thanks to Chiara, Emily and Alice for their efforts with this special day.

We are well underway with preparations for the 3 Way Conferences next week, Wednesday 13 August. A reminder to make your booking through Compass and your child only comes to school for their conference time with you. TheirCare is running if you need. Book direct with them. 3K do not come to school on 13 August either, although their conferences will be the  following week on Wednesday 20 August when Kristen returns. 3K will attend school on 20 August and we will release Kristen to conduct her conferences.

Tomorrow we have our annual Year 3-6 Athletics Carnival at Harriers Track in Collingwood. This is always great fun with every student participating in events, both track and field. Natalie and the Sport Captains have been preparing for weeks and are very excited for this event. The week after on Tuesday 12 August we will hold our annual P-2 Athletics with students running and completing field type events. It is always good to see the parents and grandparents coming to these events and supporting their children and the school.

There is certainly a lot on!

There is still a lot of illness in the school. Please keep your child home if they are unwell.

Kind Regards

Melissa Mackenzie
