Mathematics News

Hello Mathematicians,
Welcome back to Term 3! We hope everyone had a restful and refreshing holiday break, ready to dive back into learning with focus and energy. This term brings exciting opportunities for growth, as well as important assessment milestones across all year groups.
A smooth start to the term begins with preparation. We encourage families to check that students are equipped with all essential supplies: a scientific calculator, pens, pencils, rulers, glue sticks, workbooks, and a well-stocked pencil case. A scientific calculator is a critical tool for Mathematics and can be purchased from the school office if needed. Arriving to class ready helps maximise learning time and reduces disruptions. Packing school bags the night before and keeping materials organised can make a big difference to learning success.
We appreciate your ongoing support in building strong routines and encouraging student responsibility. If you have any concerns or require assistance with supplies, please contact your child’s Year Advisor.
Term 3 Assessment Tasks
This term, staying organised and proactive will help students manage their workload and approach assessments with confidence.
✅ Revision materials will be provided in class, with extra support and resources always available on CANVAS.
✅ If a student misses a lesson—especially during revision—it is their responsibility to catch up on the work outside of class.
✅ Begin revision early and use the available resources to reduce stress and improve results.
✅ Bring a scientific calculator to every lesson and assessment—there’s no guarantee of borrowing one.

Homework Club (TASC) runs every Thursday afternoon from 2–3pm. This is a great opportunity for students to receive additional support and guidance outside of class.
Let’s make Term 3 a productive and successful one. Stay organised, keep revising regularly, ask questions, and aim for your personal best—we’re proud of the hard work you continue to put in!
Warm regards, The Mathematics Faculty
