Education Week 2025 at Camden High School- “Ignite Your Potential”
Education Week 2025 was a vibrant and engaging celebration of learning, community, and collaboration at Camden High School. This year’s theme, "Ignite Your Potential", truly came to life through a dynamic program of activities that brought together students from both the high school and our local primary schools.
Proud Educational partnerships with our Partner Primary Schools
A highlight of the week was the official presentation of school banners to all our partner primary schools. Each banner stands as a visual reminder of the mutual respect, shared values, and collective purpose that unite us. They reflect our shared commitment to public education and our belief in the value of working together to create richer opportunities for every student to “ignite their potential”.
Cross-School Collaboration at Its Best
Aligning with the 2025 Public Education week theme of “Ignite your Potential”, Camden High School offered a range of collaborative learning opportunities alongside our partner primary schools. Students experienced hands-on learning in a variety of exciting settings:
Agriculture – Paddock to Plate: Primary students explored Camden High’s agricultural facilities, gaining insight into sustainable farming practices and the journey of food from soil to serving plate.
Historical Artefact Showcase – Ancient Egypt: Our history faculty hosted an interactive exhibition where high school students presented a fascinating collection of recreated artefacts, taking visiting students on a journey through ancient Egyptian civilisation.
Support Unit Boccia Demonstration: Promoting inclusivity and teamwork, our support faculty led a Boccia demonstration and friendly match, inviting primary students to learn and play the Paralympic sport alongside their high school peers.
Cooking Experience: Budding chefs from local primary schools rolled up their sleeves and joined Camden High’s Hospitality students in the kitchen for a collaborative cooking session, creating delicious dishes and building valuable life skills.
Mural Co-Design and Creation: Creativity flowed freely as students across both sectors teamed up to design and paint murals around the school, leaving a lasting visual legacy of Education Week 2025.
High School Spirit on Full Display
Camden High School also offered a wide array of student-led and faculty-run activities within the high school to showcase the diversity of learning across the school community:
Pickleball Competitions: Friendly but competitive matches got students moving and cheering, with Pickleball proving to be a crowd favourite.
Science Fair: The science faculty turned classrooms into laboratories of discovery, with student experiments and demonstrations sparking curiosity and conversation.
Music Performances: Talented musicians filled the air with sound, with performances throughout the week celebrating the artistic achievements of our students.
Support Faculty Open Classrooms and Morning Tea: Staff and visitors had the chance to see inclusive learning in action, followed by a warm and welcoming morning tea hosted by the support faculty.
Book Week and Education Week Displays: Faculty across the school transformed classroom doors and windows into colourful and imaginative tributes to reading, learning, and creativity.
Book Cover Redesign Challenge: Students reimagined the covers of their favourite books, showcasing their graphic design and literary interpretation skills in a creative competition.
A Week to Remember
Education Week at Camden High School was not only a celebration of learning but a powerful reminder of the importance of community, connection, and creativity in education. By opening our doors to local primary schools and embracing student voice and participation, the week left a lasting impact on all involved. We look forward to building on this success and continuing to grow together as a learning community.
Supporting the Health of Our School Community
We’d like to inform our school community that one of our students is currently undergoing cancer treatment and, as a result, is immunocompromised. This student remains actively involved in school life between treatments, and we are committed to ensuring a safe and supportive environment for them.
To help protect this student and others who may be vulnerable, we kindly ask for your cooperation in keeping your child at home if they are unwell, particularly if they have an infectious illness such as measles, chickenpox, shingles, diagnosed flu, or COVID-19. These illnesses can pose serious health risks to immunocompromised individuals, even if symptoms in others may appear mild. If you're unsure how long an illness is contagious, please consult your GP or visit the NSW Health website at www.health.nsw.gov.au for up-to-date guidance.
We also ask that you notify the school if your child is diagnosed with any infectious condition. This allows us to assess potential risks and, if needed, inform the affected student's family and medical team in a timely and sensitive manner.
Your understanding and cooperation are greatly appreciated as we work together to keep all students safe and well. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact the school.
