P&C News

The P&C met this week for another productive meeting.
At this meeting, we had Mrs Macey, Head Teacher Mathematics give an interesting and engaging presentation. We all gained something from this presentation and it highlighted how much teaching of maths has evolved since we were students.
We were given some simple steps to help support our children at home with Maths:
Foster a positive attitude
Be patient, encouraging and celebrate even the smallest progress
Refrain from saying “I am/was bad at maths” “your dad is bad in maths” that promote negativity etc
Talk about how maths is used in everyday life and various careers
Encourage your child to learn from mistakes.
We thank Mrs Macey for her time and quality presentation.
Other key items discussed included some clarification on uniform items, input and suggestions on this year’s Presentation Night, the introduction of consistent online meetings to allow more people to be involved even when they cannot physically attend and the exploration of fundraising initiatives to help generate income to support students and resources at CHS.
We are looking at fundraising to help generate income to fund specific resources within the school. If you have any suggestions or connections, we would love to hear from you via our email camdenhighpandc@gmail.com
Our next meeting is Tuesday 16th September and we are trialing an online meeting. If you struggle to make it to meetings in person but would like to see what the P&C is all about, please consider joining us from the warmth and comfort of your lounge room on this date.
