Senior students have been offered Monday afternoons 3pm-4pm as an extra opportunity to work on their major projects in the workshop space with their teacher. The above completion dates are fast upon us, so it is vitally important that students be working on both PROJECT and PORTFOLIO consistently between now and then. As a guide, students are expected to work at least one hour a week on their portfolios.
Shoes
All students require fully covered leather shoes to participate in the kitchens and workshops for Work Health and Safety requirements. Students in incorrect footwear are unable to participate and will be set alternate theory work in another supervised class.
Our Stage 5 Timber students are completing their side table project. This focuses on developing their skill in a number of areas including: marking out and measuring, cutting, through housing and rebate joinery, abrasives and finishing.
In the theory component students were introduced to: materials lists, reading and interpreting working drawings/plans, timber defects, tools and machinery used in the timber field. Students also completed a small project portfolio as part of their assessment task.
