From the Principal

A huge thank you to the families that came and supported our Learning Expo evening. It was fairly well attended and I hope all of the families that came had a great time. On Tuesday and Wednesday this week we held our Parent Teacher Interviews, a big thank you to all the families for supporting this event and continuing to help build partnerships between school and home.

Just a note that our Parents and Friends Committee are holding their major fundraiser this coming Saturday night. The money raised from this event will go towards the installation of the Astroturf Basketball court which will take place hopefully over the summer holidays.

First Eucharist:

This Sunday at 9:00am Mass we have a large group of students who are receiving the Sacrament of Eucharist for the first time. As a faith community we join together in passing our thoughts and prayers onto them as they take this important step in their Sacramental Journey.

St Mary Mackillop:

Tomorrow is the feast day of Australia's first and only Saint, Mary Mackillop. Her well known phrase of "Never see a need without doing something about it" rings truer today than ever before.

St Mary of the Cross Mackillop;

Pray for us

We are excited to celebrate Book Week 2025 with this year’s theme: “Book an Adventure”!

To mark the occasion, we have some special events planned:

  • Dress-Up Day and Parade – Friday, 22nd August from 9:00 am

    Students are invited to come dressed as their favourite book character, author or illustrator. We look forward to seeing everyone’s creative costumes! Families are welcome to come along to the Parade and celebrate with us. More details will be shared closer to the date.

  • Oral Storytelling Incursion with Anna Manuel – Tuesday, 26th August

    Students will enjoy an engaging storytelling session with professional oral storyteller, Anna Manuel.

In the lead-up to Book Week, our staff will be sharing some of the shortlisted books with students during the school day.

We’re looking forward to a fun and inspiring week celebrating the joy of reading!
