Year 6 Incursion
Black Snake Productions
The Year 6 students recently had the exciting opportunity to attend the Black Snake Productions incursion, and it was an unforgettable experience!
During the session, students explored the important topic of endangered species. They learned about why certain species are disappearing, the impact this has on our environment, and the incredible conservation projects that are helping to protect them. Most importantly, students discovered the simple yet powerful actions they can take to make a positive difference for wildlife.
The highlight of the incursion was meeting a variety of fascinating animals up close! These included the stone country freshwater crocodile, fruit bat, spotted-tailed quoll, growling grass frogs, Mary River turtle, and a goanna. Each animal sparked curiosity and conversation, helping students understand the real-world challenges these species face.
It was a valuable, hands-on learning experience that encouraged empathy, responsibility, and a deeper appreciation for Australia's unique wildlife. Be sure to ask your child which animal was their favourite and what they learned about protecting our natural world!
