Grade 6

Year 6

Over the past two weeks in Grade 6, we've been diving into the world of decimals in Maths. Students have been building their confidence in working with decimal numbers, including comparing, ordering, and solving problems involving the four operations. It's been fantastic to see their enthusiasm and persistence as they sharpen their number skills and tackle more challenging concepts.

In Reading, we wrapped up our class novel Us Mob Walawurru. This powerful story gave us valuable insight into the lives of First Nations communities and prompted many thoughtful discussions. In Writing, students completed a character analysis on the main character, Ruby. They explored her personality traits, motivations, and growth throughout the story, developing their ability to write with evidence and empathy.

We also had a special visit from Project Rockit, an exciting incursion focused on preventing bullying and promoting kindness. Students took part in engaging workshops where they learned how to be upstanders, support one another, and create a positive school environment. It was a valuable experience that encouraged everyone to think about the role they play in building a safe and respectful community.
