Caring Learning Growing: Every Child Every Day
Dear Families,
It has been a hectic fortnight. Apart from all the incredible learning that has been happening at school, we have had Grade 6 camp, Simultaneous Storytime, and numerous sporting events, including Cross Country and Lightning Premierships.
We are so proud of our children who have shown exceptional behaviour everywhere we have gone. They have shown respect, manners, and have been great sports.
Thank you to all our staff who organise these events and to the families who support us—a special thanks to Heath Watson and Lucy Hartigan for coaching at the Lightning premiership football and netball.
A big congratulations to Eden, Gracie and Eadie who qualified to compete at Warrnambool last Monday. It was a fantastic achievement, and they ran hard, doing us proud.
Last week, we also welcomed eight work experience students from St. Brigids. Seven of these were ex-SMJ students, and it is so wonderful to see how they have grown into such fine young people. Fingers crossed, we may have inspired some of them to become teachers.
This week is also Catholic Education Week. This week, we celebrate the success and strength of the Catholic Education system. We are looking forward to celebrating with St. Brigid's tomorrow with our liturgy and sausage sizzle.
We still have a lot of unwell children, so please keep your children home if they are unwell.
We also respectfully ask again that children not be collected before the end of the school day. Our day concludes at 3.25 pm. It is disruptive to the learning environment and your child's learning. We also understand that there are times when this is unavoidable; however, being at school for the whole day is so important. I appreciate your cooperation with this.
Enjoy the weekend ahead.
Louise
Please note that there will be no Country Buses operating next Friday, the 6th June.
