Principal's Report

A message from Amanda Williams

And just like that… we’ve reached the final newsletter for Term 2! Let's take a look at how much we've achieved...

Semester One Report Card

As the term wraps up, it brings with it a special moment to celebrate your child’s Semester One achievements. Every student at Truganina has made progress in their learning, and we are incredibly proud of the hard work and effort each student has demonstrated.

Reports will be uploaded to Compass at the end of the term, and we encourage you to take time to read the Report Card with your child and reflect on the growth and goals with your child.

Parent Teacher Interviews

There will be a formal opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher and discuss their learning in more detail at the end of Term 3. However, if you’d like to speak to your child’s teacher sooner, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. It is important to us that our families have opportunities to speak with teachers when needed - the best way to contact teachers is via the Truganina College email, administration or Compass to make a time.

2026 Prep Enrolment Tours

We’ve also kicked off our 2026 Prep Enrolment Tours. Our Early Years Leadership Team and School Leaders have been proudly showcasing our school to prospective families. A huge thank you to our students who’ve been wonderful ambassadors and enthusiastically sharing their favourite aspects of school life at Truganina College.

The Learning Expo was a hit!

It was fantastic to welcome so many families to our very first Learning Expo. This event gave families a special chance to explore classrooms, view student work, and connect with staff. Highlights included:

  • Hands-on learning displays
  • Collaborative Art and STEM projects
  • Performances and interactive exhibits
  • Rugby classes with Melbourne Storm

We hope it becomes a regular feature on our calendar!

Leadership & Recognition

Earlier this term, I had the honour of attending the Victorian State Principals' Conference, where I met with the Hon. Ben Carroll, Minister for Education. We had a wonderful conversation about the importance of phonics and excellence at Truganina College. I’ve extended an invitation for him to visit Truganina College later this year to witness firsthand the incredible work of our staff and students. Stay tuned!

As we close out Term 2, I want to thank all of our students, families, and staff for another fantastic term. The year is flying by, and it’s hard to believe we are already halfway through! Our staff teams are well prepared and energised for a strong start to Term 3.

Wishing you all a safe, restful, and joyful break—and don’t forget to enjoy some reading during the holidays!
