🌱 Hands On Learning Students Create Stunning Wicking Planters for the Community 🌱
Building skills, growing confidence, and giving back to Chelsea!
Our Hands On Learning students have successfully completed their latest community project—and the results are nothing short of amazing!
Over the past few weeks, the students have been hard at work designing, building, and planting wicking planters—a sustainable gardening solution that conserves water and supports healthy plant growth. These planters are not only functional but beautifully crafted, reflecting the care, teamwork, and pride the students put into every step of the process.
But this project wasn’t just about gardening—it was about learning practical skills, contributing to the community, and building confidence. Students worked collaboratively to problem-solve, measure, construct, and plant, all while gaining valuable experience in sustainability and teamwork.
We're proud to share that the completed planters were donated to the Chelsea Community Project, where they will continue to grow fresh produce and bring joy to the community for years to come.
Some of our students shared what they enjoyed most about the project:
- "I liked using the nails and hammer," said Bailey.
- "I liked using the hammer," added Kaden.
- "I enjoyed the painting," said Mary.
- "I enjoyed planting the planters up," shared Sheena.
- "I enjoyed the building," said Casey proudly.
These planters are now more than just garden beds—they are a symbol of student achievement, community spirit, and environmental care. We are incredibly proud of the creativity, teamwork, and dedication our students have shown.
Congratulations to all the students involved—you’ve created something truly special that will benefit the Chelsea community for years to come!
