Maffra Secondary College Shines at Cross Country Championships 

DISTRICTS

Friday, 16th May – Alberton West Football Ground 

On Friday, 39 students from Maffra Secondary College proudly represented the school at the District Cross Country event held at the picturesque Alberton West Football Ground. The energy and enthusiasm displayed by all competitors were outstanding, as students tackled the challenging course with determination and school spirit. 

The overall results were exceptional, with more than half of our competitors—21 students—qualifying for the next stage, the Regional Cross Country Championships. This is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the hard work and commitment of our students.

Students supported one another enthusiastically throughout the event, making the school community proud with the day being a success for Maffra Secondary College.

REGIONALS

 

On 16th of May, we had 38 students attend the Wellington Cross Country. It was a very successful day with 30 students progressing through to the Gippsland Round. On 5th of June, 20 students attended the Gippsland round, we were lucky to have good weather conditions, after last years wet carnival. Bowen Slattery finished 3rd in the 12/13 boys, Kobe Parsons, Ari Cater, Darcy Cater and Summer Harbour all finished in top 9 of their age groups. The Senior 17/20 girls team finished 3rd on the day.  Maffra SC had 8 students proceed to qualify for State, held on 24th of July at the Yarra Valley Racing Club. Well done on a great achievement and we wish students all the best.
