Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Carers,

COTTAGE BY THE SEA – QUEENSCLIFF CAMP REPORT

19 of our Year 5/6 students and two staff had an incredible time at Cottage by the Sea in Queenscliff. The camp was packed with fun and enriching activities including fishing, swimming, beachcombing, and a visit to the Marine Touch Museum. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to build independence and enjoy some outdoor adventure.

A huge thank you to Lachie Wilde, Tonya Ferguson, and the amazing Cottage by the Sea team for making this experience so memorable and meaningful.

MAIN BUILDING REFURBISHMENT

Our main building will be unavailable for the near future after it was flooded over the weekend.

We have previously had refurbishment of the building approved by the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) and have been awaiting repairs.

All staff and students are being relocated to alternative classrooms and learning spaces.

  1. All Office and Y4 classes will be in the Infant Building. Signage will be positioned.
  2. Principal Infant Building/ Assistant Principal Languages Building (Japanese)
  3. Staff Room- B.E.R (Y5/6 Building)
  4. All meetings will take place in the B.E.R (Year 5/6 Building)
  5. Music Lessons- Canteen
  6. These works only affect the main building.

The VSBA has organised contractors to visit our school and carry out repair and recovery tasks, including sanitising and relocating furniture and books.

We will continue working with the VSBA to minimise the impact to school operations.

Thank you for your patience while we manage the required works. The students and staff have demonstrated great flexibility while this has gone on around us.

I will continue to update you about the remediation works as they occur. The expectation is that these works will take some months but it will be worth it once we see our historic building restored.

If you have any questions about the works to occur to the main building, you can contact the VSBA by phone on 1800 896 950 or email vsba@education.vic.gov.au.

SLEEP HEALTH FOR CHILDREN

Sleep is vital for children's and adolescents' wellbeing. Sleep supports healthy development of the body and mind especially for our young learners. It's important to establish good and consistent sleeping habits so that students are able to actively particpate at school.

DIVISION CROSS COUNTRY

Congratulations to Montana Redmond for proudly representing our school at the Division Cross Country on Monday! Competing against top runners from across the region, Montana gave a remarkable performance, demonstrating resilience, dedication, and true sportsmanship on the course.

Well done, Montana!
