Principal's Report

School Newsletter
From the Acting Principal’s Desk – May 23, 2025
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We’ve officially reached the halfway mark of Term 2, and it’s a wonderful time to pause and reflect on the achievements and progress we've made together as a school community.
Celebrating Our Education Support Staff
Last week, we proudly celebrated Education Support Appreciation Day. Our heartfelt thanks go to our dedicated ES staff who help our school run smoothly every day:
- Our incredible office team, who are the friendly, welcoming face of our school and work tirelessly to coordinate administrative and financial tasks.
- Our education aides, who walk alongside students facing challenges, helping them to have safe, successful, and positive days at school.
- Our facilities team, who ensure that our school grounds are not only safe but also inviting and well-maintained.
Thank you for everything you do—you are valued members of our school family!
Grounds and Facilities Updates
🌟 Inclusive Access – Ramps Installation
As part of our commitment to creating an inclusive environment, the Department has reviewed our school’s infrastructure and designed plans for ramps across several areas. While some spaces presented challenges, we successfully negotiated more practical designs for the Year 2 area and front office entrance. We thank you sincerely for your patience during this improvement process.
🛝 Year 2 Playground Update We’re pleased to share that additional padding has been installed in the Year 2 playground area, making it safer and more comfortable for our students.
Safety and Wellbeing
🌟 Positive Behaviour and Support
We’re proud to report that overall student behaviour remains excellent across the school. Our Student Support Team and Education Support Aides continue to work closely with funded students to provide tailored support throughout the day.
With the guidance of Real Schools, we are embedding strategies like positive interactions, affective statements, and restorative conversations to promote a respectful school culture. Our Principal Class Team is also spending time in classrooms to support a positive and productive learning environment where every student can thrive.
📋 Policy Updates
We’ve updated our Swimming Supervision, Volunteers, and Attendance policies in consultation with the Education Committee and School Council. These will soon be available on our school website for your reference.
🤝 Partnering with Parents
We are grateful for the strong partnerships we share with our families. If you wish to speak with your child’s teacher, please reach out to arrange a suitable time. Teachers are currently preparing Semester 1 student reports, and Parent–Teacher Interviews will be held in June.
🚪 School Access and Visitor Procedures
A reminder that all visitors during school hours must enter via Gate 1 and check in at the office. To maintain safety, all school gates will be locked at 9:05 AM and reopened at the end of the school day. Thank you for your understanding as we fine-tune this process and for sharing any concerns with us respectfully.
After School Care
As shared previously, Camp Australia’s contract concludes at the end of this term. The School Council is currently working with both current and incoming providers to ensure a smooth and seamless transition. We will continue to keep families informed throughout the process.
