Engaging in our Faith

Free Online Parenting Courses

Parenting Programs - CatholicCare - the free online 123 Magic Course in June is particularly recommended if you feel your child is running your family instead of the other way round! It is based on the essential idea that putting in place a few boundaries for behaviour is a good thing. It makes children feel safe and mirrors what we at Holy Family also do in the classroom so why not REGISTER asap on the above link?

 "Alleluia" for the Easter Season.

Easter is not just one day but a whole season in our Catholic tradition that extends from Easter Sunday to Pentecost Sunday on 8 June. Hopefully our acts of love will show others that Christ is risen and that we reflect this. Do people know that Jesus lives in you by the way you treat others? How do they know? This might be something to chat about over dinner as a family during this "Alleluia" season.

Confirmation Mass and Potluck Dinner

Thank you to all the Year 3 families who cooked and provided some beautiful food to share with others last Sunday.  The Mass was a beautiful celebration to coincide with the start of the Confirmation preparation of Year 3 candidates. Parishioners were given the name of candidates to pray for and coming together as a group afterwards proved that faith and friendship always go hand in hand. Jesus calls us his friends after all!

Want to volunteer to help those who are hungry and lonely in Sydney?

Did you know there is a parent/parish team that goes out periodically on a Sunday morning to help chat to and provide breakfast to those on the margins of our society? It is very cold right now so why not bring the love of Holy Family to those in need? You may only need to commit to twice a year! There is an onboarding process so email me asap if interested. The time commitment is from 8.15 am from Lewisham Kitchen where we leave to go to Albert Park in Central and return to the base by midday. Our next shift is Sunday 29th June. Let your children see you role model love and care for ALL in our society. It is always a lovely morning because the homeless friends of Vinnies are always so polite and grateful. Our Winter Appeal this term is for St Vincent de Paul. Details to follow soon in Compass.
