Safety Reminder

Why We Practice Emergency Procedures at School
At Belmont High School, student and staff safety is our top priority. To help keep everyone safe, we regularly practise emergency procedures including evacuations, classroom lockdowns, and out-of-class lockdowns during recess and lunchtime.
These drills help students and staff know exactly how to respond and what to do in case of a real emergency. Practising in different scenarios—such as during lunchtime when students may be scattered across the school—ensures we’re prepared and can respond quickly and calmly no matter the situation.
We recently conducted a practice lunchtime lockdown procedure so students can continue to be familiar with what to do if an emergency occurs outside of class time. We thank everyone for taking these drills seriously and supporting our efforts to keep our school community safe.
