From the Principal

This week I am delighted to share our recent MACS Case Study Video. I hope you enjoy an insight into our classrooms and the leadership thinking that has driven change in Pedagogy over the past four to five years.
Last Thursday was the Feast of the Ascension, this important day in the Catholic Church Calendar commemorates the Christian belief of the bodily Ascension of Jesus into Heaven. It is one of the ecumenical (shared by multiple denominations) feasts of Christian churches, ranking with the feasts of the Passion and Pentecost.
2027 Sibling Enrolments:
I cannot believe I am writing this already, however if you have a younger child who is starting Prep in 2027 (I know!!!!) I would encourage you to put an application in online via our website. Enrolment interest has been very strong and we already have multiple applications from new families. Round 1 offers will be limited to 18-20 places, so get your paperwork in.
Division Cross Country:
A huge congratulations to the following students who represented our school at Division Cross Country on Tuesday.
Avery, Grayson, Lydia, Issy, Payton, Violet, Eliza.
They did such a wonderful job and we are very proud of them. A special mention to Issy (3rd), Grayson (7th) and Lydia (11th) who have now progressed through to the Regional Round of Cross Country. I believe families have already been provided with paperwork and information from School Sports Victoria.
Bunnings BBQ:
Earlier this week Tarnia sent out a Parent Helpers form on Operoo for our upcoming Bunnings BBQ on June 21st. Thank you to the families who have already filled it in, it is great to see lots of families willing to help for a couple of hours. Please note, volunteering at the Bunnings BBQ will count as a "Working Bee" and means the $100 maintenance levy will be taken off your school fees. The Parents and Friends are running this event and the money will be used to support the school. Most recently the Parents and Friends have purchased the school some new sand pit toys, they have also covered the cost of the new dishwasher that was installed in the Hall Kitchen to help OSHC and our school upgrade our kitchen licsence. They are always thinking of new ways to improve our school.
Parent / Child Sacramental Workshop for Reconciliation:
Thanks to Mrs Marcia Janky for leading Parents and Children through some important information about their upcoming Sacrament of Reconciliation. We keep these children and their families in our Prayers during this important time in their faith journey.
Just an update on Sacraments as sent out via Operoo on Tuesday. Father Cruz has been called back to India by his Religious Order for some meetings which means we have had to change our Sacramental Dates.
Reconciliation will now take place at 4:30pm on Monday, 30th of June.
Eucharist will now take place at 9:00am Mass on Sunday, 10th of August. If you have any questions about this please speak to Mrs Marcia Janky. We apologise for any inconvenience caused, however we have had to adapt due to Father Cruz' availability.
Upcoming School Closures:
Just a reminder to families that school will be closed on Monday 9th of June for the King's Birthday Public Holiday. We will also be closed on Friday the 13th of June for a staff professional learning day. I believe MACSEYE have communicated information about School Closure Day care for the 13th of June.
Winter Sports:
A huge congratulations to our students in Years 4, 5 and 6 for their efforts and sportsmanship at the recent Winter Sports Carnival. We had students participating in Soccer, T-Ball, Netball and VolleyStars. The students were very well behaved (as always!!) and they tried their best, we also some wonderful success on the day. I will ask the Sports Leaders to provide a more detailed summary of the day in the next newsletter. A big thanks to all staff including Mr Patrick Bennett who is one of our regular Casual Relief Teachers (CRT) for stepping in and supporting our students.
Annual Report to the School Community:
Please see here a copy of the 2024 Annual Report to the School Community.
Prep 2026 Enrolments:
Prep enrolments for next year have started rolling in. If you have a child who is starting Prep in 2026 I recommend you start working on the application (available on our website) or at least let me know so I can keep a spot open for you.
