School News

WE WANT OUR PARENTS / CAREGIVERS / GUARDIANS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!

Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.

Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 29 July to Friday 30 August 2024.

A link to the survey will be sent separately on Compass.  All families are invited to participate in the survey.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.

The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Resources are also available in additional languages to assist parents / caregivers / guardians who speak a language other than English at home. Please reach out to your child’s teacher, or the school directly for survey guides in your language.

Please speak to your child’s teacher if you would like more information.

Student Illness

It's that time of year where there are lots of nasty illnesses travelling around the school community.

A reminder that if your child has vomited at home, they must refrain from attending school for at least 24 hours from the last vomit as per DET guidelines below.

In an outbreak of gastroenteritis, exclude until there has not been vomiting or a loose bowel motion for 48 hours, and for all other diarrhoeal illnesses exclude until there has not been vomiting or a lose bowel motion for 24 hours

If your child has cold and flu symptoms, please do not send them to school.  Coughing, sneezing and runny noses will result in a phone call to home/work to collect your child from school.

We appreciate your support in helping us to keep our staff and students as protected as we can!

National Schools Tree Day

Dear Parents / Carers,

National Schools Tree Day will be held on July 26th this year. Due to several students and staff attending school camps we will aim to have our day sometime soon.  We aim to further beautify our school grounds by planting some native trees and shrubs, so, we are putting a call out for donations from our community. If you can donate a tree/shrub or two we would greatly appreciate that.

Please contact Pamela Staff (5/6 teacher) if you have any questions.
