The Grade 1 & 2 classes were lucky enough to meet Ruth and her dog Azhura during the Responsible Pet Education Program last term. Azhura is a suitability tested dog and Ruth demonstrates how to safely meet and greet a real dog. There was lots of listening, singing, role plays and some dancing. The students learnt how to say hello to Azhura and some of the class were able to pat him.

Instrumental music
We are currently sitting at just over 100 students doing instrumental music at Trafalgar Primary School and I have 6 amazing instrumental teachers working in the music department.
Here is the link to the instrumental music page of the TPS Music website if you want more information on the instrumental music program.
We have a new drum teacher starting in term 3 - Mark
The mid-year Instrumental Music Concert was held in the music room on Thursday 27th June.
The students who showcased their skills and hard work did a great job on the night.
Zane Coyle (LA9) has the record for the largest fish caught by a "small fry" who is a child aged U/11. Unfortunately, the fish doesn't qualify to be an Australian record due to a technicality with the line length, however, this catch is an amazing achievement for someone of Zane's age. Congratulations from us all at TPS Zane!

Grade 5/6 pencil drawings
This term students in grade 5/6 team are finishing up their grey lead pencil drawings based on chosen black and white photographs and influenced by the art of M.C Escher, and the importance of value and line in his work to create the illusion of space and depth. These monochromatic pencil drawings, focus on the design elements of colour and value as well as students drawing and blending skill development. Students are learning how the use of line, value and shading can be used to create areas of light and shade to add more depth and detail to their drawings as well as create areas of interest and contrast within their work. Here are some of the students finished pieces and works in progress.
Donations for the art room.
The art room is seeking donations of any coloured wool, ribbon or colourful string for threading and textiles projects later in the term.
We are also collecting paper shopping bags which we use for sending art works home in. If you have any of these items, we would be very grateful. Please feel free to drop them off to the office at any time.
Thanks 😊

We have an astounding amount of unnamed uniform and student items in lost property.
Daryl does a sweep of the yard daily after school and collects all lost property, more often than not, these are not named so do not make it back to their owners.
Please take care to name all uniform items and anything that your child brings to school.
Thank you for your cooperation.
