Visit to Benetook Farm

Students from the Agricultural Science subject went to Benetook Chooks to learn about free range chickens. Students got to examine chicken health, learn about egg collection and the different styles of farming. Students developed their understanding between managing free range chickens compared to barn laid chicken eggs. Plus, students had fun on the equipment to end the excursion!

Vet visit - Year 9 Animal Science class

Students in the year 9 Animal Science elective went and visited the Benetook Vet Clinic to see what it is like, ‘behind the scenes.’  Students had a great time and got to watch a tumour removal, cat castration, observe hospital patients, see the x-ray room, the equine section and photos with the clinic’s pet alpaca, Ralph.  Students had lots of fun pretending to be a horse in the crush and the anaesthetic box, plus discovered how many students equal the weight of a horse. Thank you to Benetook Vet Clinic for this experience, it was a lot of fun!
